DeleteI just finished the tenth power like 5 min ago.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT and the 1 and 2 books. I am in the 7th grade.
Thanks so much for leaving a comment. I'm so thrilled that you enjoyed the Chanters books! I'm working on another book now. This one is about Calwyn's daughter… Hope that's not too spoilery!
ReplyDeleteKate
I'm so excited! I can't wait!
DeletePlease tell me when you will finish this book. I finished The tenth power and I can't stop thinking about it!!
Hi Grace,
DeleteThank you so much for your message... but I'm sorry to say that this sequel didn't work out :( I think I left it too long and I it was too hard to work my way back into Tremaris. But there is one more Tremaris book, The Taste of Lightning, that you might enjoy.
Thanks again for posting,
Kate
Dear Kate,
ReplyDeleteI Just read your post and YESSS! (insert cheering).
I am in love with the Chanters of Tremaris series and me and my friend (don't know if you read my last post) that has the nickname Mica, after your character, were waiting VERY impatiently to see of another was coming out. We are both 11 and have worn out the school library's copies long ago! I shall have to tell her on Monday.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
From Thirrin
P.S.S Is Calwyn's daughter called Mica like Calwyn promised??? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteFrom Thirrin
Hi Thirrin,
ReplyDeleteNow I've had this lovely comment from you I feel I should hurry up and finish the book! And yes, Calwyn's daughter is named after Mica -- but she is known as Dimica (little Mica) (pronounced DIM-icka)
Thanks again for posting here!
:-)
I have told my friend and she is SUPER excited. I have just finished reading the series for the third time through and I could not even read the contents pages without shivering with excitement! It took me about 18 hours to finish the whole series so it was finish one book move to the next. Nothing wasn't exciting and I still laughed at what was funny and cried when people died.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing book series thank you soo much for writing it and I can not wait for another one.

Hi Kate,
ReplyDeleteMe and one of my friends, that I have not told you about, Opal are trying to write a book together over Email. Can you give us some hints please?
We have no idea what is actually going to happen but we have a world and the characters. They all have a spirit animal and a power based on one of the elements.
Opal has not read the Chanters of Tremaris but has said she would.
Thank you
From Thirrin
Hi Thirrin,
ReplyDeleteHm! Well, it sounds as if you've spent lots of time on the most fun part (world-building) and now you need to do some hard work! My suggestion would be to take one or two characters and think of the worst possible thing you could make happen to them -- what do they fear the most, what do they value? Give them a big problem and help them try to find a way to solve it. Keep throwing problems at them and see how they respond. Have fun!
Kate
Thank You!
ReplyDeleteOpal and I are back at school on Tuesday (We have a staff training day on Monday) and we know we shall brainstorm at lunch or our silent reading/ writing time.
How did you come up with Samis? We are having LOTS of trouble finding the bad guy in the sea of characters we have written down. The most evil description we have come up with is the one for Ronxa.
Even that isn't very evil sounding!
You wrote Dear Swoosie with another lady how did you do it? Was it by Email or were you in the same room?
Thanks.
Thirrin and Opal
Maybe your bad guy isn't really evil; maybe he/she thinks that they doing the right thing. Most bad guys do mean well, strangely enough… ;)
ReplyDeletePenni and I wrote Dear Swoosie using google docs. We made a chapter outline and then we would write a chapter each and email when we'd put it up on the shared document. We ended up writing REALLY fast because it was so much fun!
PS Ronxa is a great villain's name, imo!
Dear Kate,
ReplyDeleteAt school Opal and I have been asked to do an assignment on and influential Australian and we chose you. Because thanks to you our story is coming along nicely and we find you inspiring.
Thanks for everything.
From Opal and Thirrin
Thank you, Opal and Thirrin! I'm flattered to be considered an influential Australian :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your assignment, and I'm glad the story is going well.
Kate
Kate Constable is an absolutely fantastic writer. We had to read Crow Country for English at school, and every one loved it! It was by far the best book we had to read.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that Crow Country is an inspirational book. It's great for all ages. I deeply encourage people to read Crow Country by Kate Constable.
i totally agree. its such a good book. also read cicada summer. its awesome!
DeleteThanks to you two anonymous commenters. You are too kind. I'm so glad that you enjoyed reading Crow Country; it's always tricky when you don't get a choice!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your lovely comments.
Kate
Dear Kate Constable
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing the Tenth Power as it gave me and A in English.
I am from an academicly selective school in NSW and for our English assignment we had to write a persuasive text (boring) on which book should be included in the children's cannon of literature. I did the Tenth Power and my teacher loved it. The fact that you are an Australian YA author made her even more thrilled.
Thank you for writing all of your books as I have read nearly all of them :)
Thank you again
From Erica
Sorry academically
DeleteThis book is really good! We are reading it for our Year 7 English book, and I'm actually enjoying it! Great book *****
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying it!
